First 30 days
Week 1
Systems, privacy/security, practice structure, payer mix, terminology and observation.
Week 2
Guided work on low-risk queues with account-note review and daily feedback.
Week 3
Broader claim, denial and A/R scenarios with quality sampling.
Week 4
Independent work within defined limits, KPI review and targeted coaching.
Before independent production
- Can the learner locate payer eligibility, claim status and remittance information?
- Can they distinguish rejection, denial, correction and appeal workflows?
- Can they document a complete account note?
- Can they identify PHI/compliance risks?
- Do they know which questions belong to coding, clinical, credentialing, contracting or compliance teams?
Capstone mindset
The full revenue cycle is connected. A denial may reveal an authorization issue; an A/R trend may reveal credentialing or claim-edit problems; a payment variance may reveal contract or posting issues. The job is to follow the evidence across the workflow.
